The ACMA is preparing to allocate by auction, spectrum lots that remain unallocated after the most recent spectrum auction in the 1800 MHz band, spectrum licence reissue processes in the 2 GHz, 2.3 GHz and 3.4 GHz bands, as well as some 2 GHz spectrum lots in the Canberra region that have recently been designated for spectrum licensing for the first time.

The ACMA auctioned the 700 MHz band spectrum residual lots (the unsold lots from the 2013 digital dividend auction of 700 MHz band spectrum) sequentially as two lots on an Australia-wide basis.

The ACMA commenced the auction for the 700 MHz residual lots (the unsold lots auction) on Tuesday 4 April 2017

ACMA supporting material to help stakeholders consult on the government’s Exposure Draft of the Radiocommunications Bill 2017.

The ACMA gives notice under subsection 26(1) of the Radiocommunications (Spectrum Licence Allocation – 700 MHz Band) Determination 2016 (Allocation Determination) for the residual 700 MHz band spectrum auction.

In early April 2017, the ACMA intends to conduct a spectrum auction to allocate 2 x 15 MHz of 700 MHz spectrum in frequency ranges 733–748 MHz and 788–803 MHz.

This consultation paper examines a range of options to reconfigure the 890–915/935–960 MHz band into 5 MHz blocks.
