The United Nations ESCAP Internship in ICT and Development

The ICT and Development (IDS) section, Information and Communications Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction (IDD) division of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP), is looking for highly motivated interns to strengthen the team. An internship with IDS is a great opportunity to acquire direct exposure to the work of ESCAP.

During the internship, the intern will be working under direct supervision of experienced UN staff and will be exposed to high-profile conferences, participate in meetings, and contribute to analytical as well as organizational efforts of IDD. In particular, the intern is expected to, among completing other tasks, provide research assistance to members of the team on various issues related to ICT and development and support the organization of inter-governmental meetings. In addition, the intern may be requested to assist with undertaking research, compile, process and present data on ICT for development, which may include the use of econometric modeling approaches to assess the impact of ICT on development.
