The Asia-Pacific Digital Transformation Report 2022 (access here) is the first edition of a biennial flagship publication series of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP)  and it was launched at the Committee on ICT, Science Technology and Innovation of ESCAP on 30 August 2022.

About AP-IS

Since 2016, the ESCAP secretariat has been promoting the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway initiative (AP-IS). As a region-wide intergovernmental platform, AP-IS aims to bridge the digital divide and accelerate digital transformation by promoting digital connectivity, digital technology and data use in the Asia Pacific region.

In particular, this AP-IS platform:

Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway concept was defined at the 1st meeting of the Working Group on the Asia-Pacific Information Superhighway. The  AP-IS Master Plan identified the following four thematic pillars: (a) Physical infrastructure upgrade and interconnection; (b) Internet traffic management; (c) Building regional network resilience and (d) Promoting broadband access in underserved areas.
