The Committee on Information and Communications Technology, Science, Technology and Innovation, Third Session was held at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok from 19 to 20 August 2020. The Committee session was held virtually via videoconference on 19 and 20 August 2020. Bangkok-based representatives from member States and international organizations were welcome to participate in person at the United Nations Conference Centre in Bangkok.

The Working Group on Innovation and Technology for Sustainable Development (WG on ITSD) is a subsidiary body under the UN Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA), comprising senior policymakers, researchers, decision-makers, and implementers from the SPECA countries responsible for developing guidance and finding practical solutions to problems identified by the countries.

"Under control: Technology, Innovation and the Future of Work"

The Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ms. Amina J. Mohammad, addressed to the youth participating in United Nations International School-United Nations welcoming ceremony on the 28th of February 2018 at the General Assembly Hall in UN Headquarters in New York. The topic under discussion this year was “Under Control: Technology, Innovation and the Future of Work”. She highlighted the importance of the positive impact of science and technology in workplaces and societies.
