E-Resilience & Recovery

Recovery is the restoration of livelihoods and health, as well as economic, physical, social, cultural and environmental assets, systems and activities, of a disaster-affected community or society; not just building back better but building back smarter, in alignment with the principles of sustainable development, to avoid or reduce future disaster risk and doing so in the most effective and sustainable way possible. ICT plays a crucial role in helping societies to conduct rapid assessment of damages and estimation of recovery needs, as well as to strategically position ICT in the recovery strategy including the need for ICT investment to reduce future risks.
